Dr.
Stubbs is currently the principal investigator for the
SCI-LINK and GLOBE-NET projects at North Carolina State
University, with support from many different agencies,
including the National Science Foundation, U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency, and others. These projects bring
together science teachers and research scientists for
educator enhancement. Dr. Stubbs is the author and co-author
of several books and also has been instrumental in the
writing of grants to further environmental education
in our state. She has received numerous recognitions
and awards during her career, and continues to serve
as a leader in environmental education.
Dr.
Lundie Spence is
a marine education specialist with the North Carolina
Sea Grant College Program and also associate faculty
with the NC State University, Division of Multidisciplinary
Studies and Department of Marine, Earth and Atmospheric
Sciences, has worked with professional development of
educators in NC and internationally. In addition to
teaching undergraduates and graduates on campus, advising
students, and developing programs for marine and environmental
education, she has also focused on nature-based tourism
as a key to rural economic development and estuarine
development and management guides. Her resume includes
journal publications, documentaries for public television,
curriculum, and numerous presentations to public and
educational audiences.
