Each day, we are bombarded with information, often in the form of an advertisement. Many take advertisements at face value and do not know how to determine an ad's accuracy for its intended product. Students, especially teenagers, are influenced by the power of the media, yet few stop to think about how much of their habits are controlled through this medium. Many products advertised such as alcohol, tobacco, fast food, diet/nutrition supplements and even video games have deeper social issues surrounding them and have even been shown to impact brain development during adolescence. |
