  David Drooz has served the NC State Legal Office since November 1993. Prior to that, he worked as a Staff Attorney at the NC Court of Appeals from 1983-85, and a Staff Attorney at the Public Staff of the NC Utilities Commission from 1985-93. Mr. Drooz received a B.A. degree in Political Science from Haverford College in 1979, and a J.D. degree from the University of Chapel Hill Law School in1982.He has been licensed to practice law in North Carolina since 1982, and is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.   Ms. Lannom joined NC State University on December 1, 2003. Prior to that time, she worked for eight years as Assistant Attorney General with the NC Department of Justice as lead counsel in all areas of labor/employment law for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Ms. Lannom received her B.A. degree from DePauw University in 1988; J.D. degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1991 and clerked for Judge Jack Cozort of the North Carolina Court of Appeals from 1991-1994.   Ms. White joined NC State University on August 23, 2004. Prior to her employment with NC State, Ms. White worked for the NC Department of Justice Property Control Section as a Special Deputy Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General from 1990-2004, Associate Attorney General with the Service to State Agencies Section from 1986-1990, and a Contract Attorney with Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice for one year. Ms. White received her B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1982 and J.D. degree from Campbell University School of Law in 1985.   Ms. Curry joined NC State University on June 30, 2005. Prior to her employment with NC State, Ms. Curry worked for The University of Georgia Research Foundation as the General Counsel and Assistant Vice President for Research from 1996-2005. Ms. Curry received her B.A. degree from the University of Tennessee, J.D. degree from Memphis State University and L.L.M. from the London School of Economics.   Mr. Nelson joined NC State University on November 10, 2008. Prior to his employment with NC State, Mr. Nelson was an attorney with McGuireWoods, LLP in Raleigh, North Carolina. Mr. Nelson received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill, and his M.P.P. degree from Duke University's Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy. Mr. Nelson served as an Executive Editor of the North Carolina Law Review while at UNC. Murphy - Assistant General Counsel Email: hope_murphy@ncsu.edu Phone: 919-515-3932 Biography Subject Areas Ms. Murphy joined NC State University on November 19, 2009.  Prior to her employment with NC State, Ms. Murphy was an Assistant University Attorney with East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina from 2007-2009, Assistant Attorney General with the North Carolina Department of Labor from 2003-2007 and a Senior Associate with Bender Law Offices, PC from 1999-2003.  Ms. Murphy received her B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.         Deborah G.   Deborah Harvey joined the Legal Affairs Office on October 21, 1996. Ms. Harvey previously worked at the North Carolina Department of Human Resources, Office of the Secretary, from 1993-1996. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from North Carolina A&T State University; Masters of Business Administration from Strayer University; Paralegal Certification from American Institute of Paralegal Studies; and is a member of the Notary Public Commission. Ms. Harvey's administrative experiences in the legal profession include bankruptcy; torts and personal injury; real estate; civil/criminal proceedings and litigation at both the state and federal level. Ms. Harvey serves as the office manager and assistant to Vice Chancellor and General Counsel.

  Denise Hall joined the Legal Affairs Office on December 3, 2001 as Office Assistant IV. Ms. Hall previously worked at U-Haul International as a Traffic Control Manager. Ms. Hall serves as the LAN Tech representative and support staff to Associate General Counsels, Terry White and, Judy Curry and Assistant General Counsel, Drew Nelson. Ms. Hall received her Paralegal Certification from Penn Foster Career School in September 2006.
