1. How does it make you feel to be on the 1996 Olympic team for your country?

j- "It's a chance of a lifetime"…"a great feeling"…"It's the ultimate competition"…"You can never go higher than the Olympic games."

2. When you were a kid did you ever expect to be where you are today? Did you have goals to participate in the Olympics, or to even have a career in sports?

j-"No, I never thought of it"

3. How old were you when you started competing it track and field events? How did you get started?

j- "High school"…" 15"… "My elder brother was also a javelin thrower"… "I followed in his footsteps."

4.How are you adjusting to our climate?

j-"Climatizing takes a while"…"Weather changes"…"It affects competing..."Jet-lag"…" Not used to traveling because of small funds to do so."

5. How long have you been training in the US?

"About 2 weeks with 3 weeks to go."

6. After the Olympics are over, are you planning on doing any sight seeing or stay in America for a while before going home?

" I'm used to going in, competing for a week, then leaving, going straight home."… "I'd rather do that, but I'm enjoying the stay"

7. What other competitions were you in?

"Australian Championships"

"New Zealand Championships"…"There is good competition there, but not as good as in the US."

"South Pacific Games every four years, and a mini one 2 years in between."

8. In your opinion, what makes a good athlete?

"Good competition"…"That's why some athletes are moving to the US"… "Have to have a challenge."

9 Do you work somewhere else?

j-"Financing company."

10. Do you have much time to train ?

"I take Sundays off"…"I work 8-5, Monday through Friday, Saturday is competition, and Sunday I stay at home, go to parties, but I can't stay out to late."

11. What have you done since you've been here?

"Trained, stayed at the hotel, gone shopping."
