Gemma Mojica is a doctoral student in Mathematics Education at NC State University. She received her B.S. in Mathematics from East Carolina University. After teaching middle school mathematics in Wake County, Gemma earned a M.S. in Mathematics Education with a Minor in Statistics from NC State University. Currently, she is a research assistant in the Center for Research in Mathematics and Science Education at NC State. She is particularly interested in issues related to the teaching and learning of probability and statistics, as well as how technology can be used to empower students and teachers.

Peter Holt Wilson is a research assistant at The Friday Institute for Educational Innovation at North Carolina State University and a doctoral student in Mathematics Education. He taught secondary mathematics before returning to graduate school full time in 2005. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.A.Ed. in Mathematics from East Carolina University. In 2004, Holt received Adolescence and Young Adult Mathematics certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. His interests outside of mathematics education include hiking, sailing, and recreational running.

Ji-eun Suh received her M.Ed in Instructional Technology from NC State University. She enjoys working for Meridian as a technology co-editor. Her interests include integrating technology in education.

Anne Akers, a public school teacher for 20 years, has a master’s degree in history from VA Tech and an MLS from East Carolina University. Currently, she is the Director of the Media Center in the College of Education at NC State University where she is working towards her Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on technology.

Carrie Blanton is a graduate student at North Carolina State University and currently working on receiving a degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  She received her Mathematics Education teaching degree from Clemson University, and taught junior high math in Spanaway, Washington. Her interests include staying active and taking part in outdoor adventure activities.

Jeni Corn is a doctoral student in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Instructional Technology at NC State University. She received her B.A. in Psychology and M.Ed. in Educational Psychology, Measurement, and Evaluation from UNC. Jeni works with the Technology in Learning (TiL) program at the SERVE Center at UNCG as Program Coordinator. The TiL program promotes the use of technology to improve teaching and learning by providing technical assistance, authentic professional development in the areas of curriculum and instruction, leadership for technology, policy, and planning and evaluation.

Jennifer Davis is a full time doctoral student at NC State, working toward a degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus on social studies education.  She received her BA in history from Meredith College and her MA in history from NC State.  She is currently an adjunct professor at Campbell University, where she teaches Western Civilization, US History, and North Carolina History.

Angel Dowden, former School Counselor in Wake and Durham counties, currently serves as AP/IB program Coordinator for the NC Department of Public Instruction. She has a BA in English Education and an MA. Ed in School Counseling. Angel is currently in the Counselor Education Ph.D. program at NC State.

Millie Maxwell Dysart is a licensed professional counselor and currently works as a counselor and psychology instructor at Saint Mary's School in Raleigh, NC. She holds a B.A. in English from Wake Forest University, an M.A. in English, and an M.Ed in counselor education from NCSU, where she is a full-time doctoral student. She is an avid tennis player, snow skier, and recreational runner.

Lynnae Flynn is a doctoral student in science education at NC State University. She received her BS in science education in 1995 from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She taught biology and physical science for four years at Sanderson High School in Raleigh, NC, before going back to graduate school in 1999. She received her MS in science education from NCSU in 2001. Her research interests include examining small group interactions using sequential analysis software and identifying power and/or status hierarchies within small groups.

Shawn Y Holmes has a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Temple University School of Dentistry and is currently a doctoral student in science education at NC State University. She received her BA in biology from Temple University and has a MS in multicultural education from Eastern University in Pennsylvania. She taught biology and AP biology for five years in Philadelphia, PA and Long Beach, CA before starting at NC State University in 2006. Her research interests include computer simulations and their use as educational interventions as an impact on teacher’s ethical sensitivity to racial intolerance.

Amanda Lambertus is a doctoral student in Mathematics Education at NC State University. She received her B.A. in Mathematics from Indiana University. After teaching high school mathematics in Indiana and Carteret County, Amanda earned a M.S. in Mathematics Education with a Minor in Mathematics from NC State University. Currently, she is a research assistant for MOSS.

Kenny Nguyen is a doctoral student in mathematics education and is a research assistant for Generating Increased Science & Mathematics Opportunities (GISMO). He obtained his B.S. from the University of Chicago in mathematics in 2001 and M.A. from the University of Michigan in Learning Technologies in 2005. Prior to returning to graduate school, he served as network administrator for the Chicago based Joyce Foundation and taught summer school in the Chicago Public Schools. His research interests include the learning sciences, rational number reasoning, urban education, and assessment design.

She received her BS in chemistry from NC State and her MA in Education from Austin Peay State University. Bethany V. Smith is a masters student in instructional technology. She earned a BS in technology education from NC State University. Bethany has taught in public school as well as in the corporate arena. She is the Assistant Director of Learning Technologies for the College of Education at NCSU. Her interests include technology integration across curricular areas.
