Hannukah
It's pronounced Cha-nu-ka
(Note that the Ch is not like the Ch in "chair" ; it's made in the throat.)

Hanukka is a time for people to celebrate the Maccabees fight to preserve the Torah, the first five books of the Bible.
After winning the fight in 165 BCE they returned to Jerusalem to celebrate their victory.
Since the menorah had been stolen by the Syrians, they made a new one of cheaper metal.
When they wanted to light it, they could only find a small amount of oil.
The oil should have only lasted one day.
By some miracle of God, the menorah continued burning for eight days, until new oil was available.
This is why the next candle of the menorah is lit, along with the last number, every one of the eight days.
