The Currituck Beach Lighthouse

The Currituck Beach Lighthouse was built
in 1875. The lighthouse stands 158 feet high. The Currituck lighthouse
was left it's natural brick color since other lighthouses are painted with
distinctive markings. The lighthouse's signal is 3 seconds on and then
17 seconds off. The spiral staircase inside of the lighthouse is 150 feet
tall. The lighthouse is used today to light the dark stretches of the southern
coastline.
