I Have a Dream, Too
Jonathan Lee

I, too have a dream. I dream of a world where people can forevermore climb towards the light, of a place where all obstacles can be overcome, where all people can join together and leave all prejudice behind. I dream of NOT unison, but of perfect harmony, an interlocking bond of people where a man may play his own role and be supported by others while he, himself may be a support for another stage entirely. Selfish desires will be left behind even through certain pain, and to give will truly prove to be more valuable that receiving any worldly object,
A flawless world may not be possible in a time without a revelation, but to be as near to purity as possible in our own strength is only a wish. To many, it is a hope. I have seen that there can be no pleasure without pain, no prizes without loss, no dream without nightmare, and no good without evil. Can it not be that there is perfect faith? The statement that there is no hope is by far the most corrupt statement a people can make. Hope for people is one idea and hope for a world is another. A person can choose whatever path he decides, and it is not the place of a nation to manipulate his mind to agree with their point of view. He is not to give in to the beating of the wind on his face, but he is to stand tall and prove himself and his belief to be true. This does not mean he is not to consider the views of others. Remember, a perfect harmony cannot exist without support and consideration, nor can it exist without the many peoples to communicate.
Communication plays a major role in our life, and it will in the future. A person cannot get support without asking for it, and his support is useless without something to support. There is a certain truth to "you can only help those who help themselves", but not truth in it's entirety. You can help those who don't help themselves, but only to certain extent. A boost may be all they ask for and need anyway. I dream that a person will be willing to help another even if certain present-day hold-backs cause the person to doubt the other person. Integrity and good judgment will be important as well as respect for other people and their goals.
My dream may not become a reality in my lifetime, or in my children's lifetime, or in the present physical condition of the planet, but farther along the path of cooperation we travel, and the closer we draw to each other, the world will be, and will be beyond that, a better place.
