I Have a Dream, Too!
by Shiree Izzard
I have a dream, too! My dream is that we have more peace inside and outside of school, inside and outside of home.
If we had more peace at school, students would not fight over things such as boys, girls, clothes, shoes, friends, popularity, and homework. When students fight over things such as this people get hurt, embarrassed, and suspended. This doesn't make sense to me. Why do people do it? Why can't we walk away?
If we had more peace outside of school, school age children would not be getting shot, stabbed, raped, or strangled. Most kids think guns are a joke, along with knives. They play around and someone gets hurt and they can't do anything about it because someone ends up dead. Parents are hurt, lives are shattered, and money has to be spent on funeral cost.
If we had peace in the home, parents wouldn't have to punish kids, and kids wouldn't have to fuss out parents. Some kids take advantage of their parents and never want to do anything. Some parents punish kids because they want to be the boss and break the rules under their parents' roof.
If we had more peace outside of home, babies would not be out there in the world having babies, thinking they know what they are doing. Little boys would not be out there selling drugs and having unprotected you know what.
This is my dream. I hope what I have written has taken some affect. To have peace, you have to start with respect for yourself, your parents, and others.
