Starting Small

My dream is for world peace. It may seem like an ordinary idea, but it is flowing with life when you think closely about it. World peace is not something you think you can see, but I saw the seed one soccer tournament in Pensacola, Florida.

I was at a restaurant with my mother, just dressed in ordinary out-to-dinner clothes. At the front of the restaurant were the Barracudas, a Carrolton selsa (a group of good players from a certain organization)team. They were all dressed in purple uniforms, dancing.

I felt embarrassed, mainly because my team had beaten them 6-0 that very day, not to mention having stolen their two key players, and there was a rivalry between us, so I continued eating my food. A few minutes later in a group, they begged me to come up to the front and dance with them. I ended up walking to center stage, embellished in a blur of purple.

We all began the Macarena in unison, and soon my shirt seemed to blend into purple, as if I were one of the team. We danced together, together as one. I felt as if I was a part of them.

If there is no world peace, nothing will be resolved. There will only be small times when one group of people will unite as one, but outside of that force field, the world will continue fighting in wars, so what could will come of anything?

The way to solve is to start small, perhaps with something like my experience. Schools could except more diverse groups of people. Congress could pay more attention to races, both sexes and the rights of all people. Countries could come together and help each other without disagreements.

Maybe this could happen by more world trade, compromising and thinking of new ideas to compete with bad, destructive ideas. If this pattern continues, then maybe the whole world will agree and feel intimate toward everyone.

Other children and I could start small, perhaps like the Barracuda team did for me. Then, as I said before, the pattern will continue.

A thought: if the people lead, then the leaders will follow. This may be the key to world peace.
