“Are you kidding? It’s probably just Mom and Dad upstairs trying to scare us.” Max said, even though he knew it wasn’t true. Mom and Dad were away on a business trip to Colorado and wouldn’t be back for a couple of days. They had told Sarah that they were just going to be busy for a week, and that they would leave before she got up and come back after her bedtime. Max thought that Sarah was the most gullible person in the world and that she believed them.
