Secondary Roads
Articles, Projects, and Activities for Secondary Students
For many years, our older readers have asked for a section with mature content. In response to these requests, we invite you to join us for our first stroll down "Secondary Roads," our new section for students in the upper grades. Our journey will take us along roads "less traveled by." We will feature articles that approach learning in new ways as we share the creative work of talented older students. This new section will include some of the best Internet resources for an older audience (generally ages 16 - 19).
We welcome your suggestions for sites that should be here, and we would appreciate your comments about this section.
Electric Soup - The award-winning magazine by Florence McGinn, Technology & Learning's National Teacher of the Year and her talented staff from Hunterdon Central Regional High School, Flemington, NJ. You can submit your articles on-line.
Electronic Periodic Table - Chemistry students at Cary Academy, Cary, NC, are building this chart one element at a time. It makes a great study guide! If you are interested in adding elements to this table, please contact Gray Rushin, chemistry teacher.
The Black Plague - Don't miss Secondary Roads' contribution to the Virtual Haunted House. It even has a "Choose Your Own Adventure" game. You'll enjoy clicking your way through the haunted halls as you learn about Halloween customs in different lands.
