By the Year 2000
Austin Duke

If I had the power to change the world, I would change many things by the year 2000.  These things that I would change would affect all of the world and would help to make everything better.

The first thing that I would do, would be to supply the funds to improve research on diseases.  Many people die each year from diseases such as cancer and diabetes.  By supplying medical departments with the needed money, they will be able to purchase new equipment and perform more tests that could result in the cure of these deadly diseases.  Breakthroughs are already being made in the research of these diseases, which leads us to believe that they are close to a cure.  By supplying the money, finding a cure becomes very possible.  This is one of the things I would change by the year 2000 if I had the power.

The second thing that I would do if I could change the world, would be to provide help to third world countries that are struggling to survive.  I would send the needed doctors and volunteers to set up hospitals to care for the sick people of these countries.  I would also send money and ambassadors to start a good government system and get the country back on track.  This would help to bring all countries up to the top level and make everyone equal.  This is what I would do if I had the power.

One other thing that I would do if I had the power, would be to provide the necessary resources to obtain more research on space.  This would include more instruments, more space shuttles, state-of-the-art facilities, and more trips into space.  This would help us to understand space better, and would allow us to reach advancements in space much quicker.  This is something I would do if I had the power by 2000.
