The Year 2000

There are three wishes I would like the world to have by the year 2000.  Those three wishes are a medical advance in the cure of cancer, world peace, and that the computers of the world will not crash.

I think that if our medical researchers could find a cure to cancer then thousands of people's lives could be saved.  Cancer has been a problem for quite a while now, and may members of peoples' families have died from this dreaded disease.  So many  innocent  lives would be saved if scientists could make a breakthrough in medicine for curing cancer in the year 2000.

World peace is very important to me.  I think that New Years morning, right at twelve, that all of the world leaders would sign a peace treaty.  If there was world peace then the nations of the world would have tons of extra money to invest in medical studies and for money support for the homeless and poor people of our society.

My final wish is that the computers of the world do not crash.  If they did, everything in the would that was electrical would be powerless.  All medical equipment would be shut off and thousands of people on life support would die from not having the power to run the machines that their lives depended on.  Plus, for a week or so, the world would have no power for their businesses and homes.  Just think, for a week there would be nothing produced for consumers to buy, and there would be a sudden demand for generators.

These are my wishes for the new millennium.  If we could find a cure for the dreaded disease cancer, have world peace, and not lose power, the world would become a great place for everyone to live in.
