Casola Valsenio is a village located in a green valley between
Appennino's mountains
and hills, in Northern Italy. It is a municipality of the Emilia Romagna
region.
To the East is the Adriatic sea and the city of Ravenna, the last capital of the
west
roman empire (70 Km). To the West lies the city of Florence (75 km), north the city
of Bologna,
the oldest university in Europe, 11th century A.D. (65 km). To the South of the
city lies
Rimini and the Republic of San Marino, the oldest republic of the
Europe.
One especially interesting part of the Heritage of Casola Valsenio is the medieval Valsenio abbey and
the "Cardello",
home of the writer Alfredo Oriani.
Here it's quite cold, it' s drizzling and the snow is in the top of the
mountains.
Warm regards,
Gian Carlo Visani
