Wanda

is a CLUE teacher at Grahamwood Elementary in Memphis, Tennessee.
CLUE (Creative Learning in a Unique Environment) is a
resource program for academically talented and gifted students in
the Memphis City Schools. The CLUE curriculum explores a wide range
of topics and nurtures analytical and creative thinking through
group and independent strategies.
Wanda has
a bachelor's and a master's degree in education from Memphis State
University. This is her twenty-third year teaching 5th and 6th
grade CLUE students. Wanda
and her students learn together as they collaborate to create
multimedia presentations, web pages, and internet projects. She and
her student editors develop and maintain Poetry Post: an
international creative writing classroom project featuring student
poetry submitted by teachers.
Wanda has
co-authored curriculum guides and presented instructional strategies
featured in these guides at local, state, and national conferences.
Her honors include: Who's Who Among America's Teachers, Rotary Award
for Teacher Excellence, Tennessee Career Ladder III educator, coach
for ThinkQuest Junior first-place winning team, Model Technology
Classroom teacher.
In addition to
developing and participating in collaborative internet projects for
classrooms, Wanda enjoys spending time with her husband Ron and
their family. She and Ron embrace their new roles as grandparents.
Wanda is honored
to be a part of the editorial staff for MidLink Magazine and
excited about the opportunity to collaborate with fellow teacher
editors. As a MidLink contributing editor, Wanda would like to:
1)
create educational resources for teachers and students;
2)
share thinking strategies and techniques for producing new
ideas;
3)
invite virtual colleagues and their students to publish on
the Internet and participate in the excitement of the on-line global
community:
