Polish Food: Recipe: Hunter's Stew
Hunter's Stew
Serves: 6
Ingredients
2 lb Shredded Cabbage
1 large can Sauerkraut
2 lb Pork Chops
2 cups Water
1 lb Polish sausage
1 can Tomato sauce -- (8 oz)
Salt & pepper to taste
1. Cook the cabbage, sauerkraut, chops and onions with the water and
seasonings in a deep kettle for about an hour or more, until the pork is tender.
2. Remove the bones and cut the meat into pieces. Cool. Peel the sausage and
cut into bite sized pieces. Add the meat with the tomato sauce to the first
mixture.
3. Cover and cook until the sausage is tender.
4. Again, this is a recipe that I have had for quite some time. It either came from a
news paper, or an old cookbook.
