Each year teachers, students,
and parents of ALL ages from all over the world participate in this popular project. If you plan to help us
build the best haunted house ever, please be sure to prepare for lots of web
travelers! Here's how to participate:
- Visit last year's Virtual Haunted House. Get
some ideas and start thinking about what you want to do. Will you write a story
first and then illustrate it? Will you retell some of your scariest folktales and
regional legends? What software will you use? (Your Curriculum Connections: social studies,
language arts, art)
- Register your class. We
will add your school's name to the participant list.
- Create your haunted house of
graphics, scary stories, folk tales...whatever fits into your lesson
plans...and post it on your school's web. Tell us where to link and
give us the name of the person who will be responsible for keeping the
content "G" Rated. We need the teacher's name, school, location and age of
students to include in the "Distinguished
Teacher-Editor" section.
- Read "How to Participate" and
see our suggestions for acceptable use, copyright, parental permission, etc.
- Get busy! The October issue goes
on-line on October 15. Just send us your URL and we will point to
your school's web page.
- If your school does not have a web page,
look at Method B on our "How
to Participate" section.
