Innovation, Leadership and Higher Education

North Carolina State University’s Millennium Seminar Series is designed to engage, encourage and inspire NC State students throughout the academic year. Millennium series coordinator and North Carolina first lady Mary P. Easley recruited a diverse list of speakers for the 2007-08 program, including former U.S. Labor Secretary and best-selling author Robert Reich, acting U.S. Surgeon General Kenneth P. Moritsugu, acclaimed broadcaster Charlie Rose and Donna Shalala, president of the University of Miami and the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services during the Clinton administration – experts who discussed some of the key issues facing our world today.

The Millennium Seminars complement NC State’s land-grant mission to transform lives and improve the human condition through innovation and discovery. While these seminars are student-centered, they are open to the entire university community and general public. The 2008-09 series schedule will be posted when it becomes available.

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, NC State will honor requests for reasonable accommodations made by individuals with disabilities. Requests can be served more effectively if notice is provided at least 10 days before the event. Direct accommodation requests to Retta Clemons at 919.515.2195 or retta_clemons@ncsu.edu.
