Awarded to an incoming NC State freshman. Applicants must complete the scholarship application, provide three letters of recommendation, submit a videotape of a musical performance and compose an essay on student leadership and its importance to the marching band. The three letters must include one from the student's high school band director, one from a local community leader and one from another musician in the local community.
The availability of this scholarship, including the amount of the scholarship award, for the 2009-2010 school year will be known by the August 10, 2009 application deadline (listed on the scholarship application). Incoming freshmen are still encouraged to apply. Notification of the scholarship's status, along with the award amount, will be sent to all applicants immediately after the application deadline.
