Dr. Yingling’s group's research interests are focused on the development of advanced computational models and novel algorithms for multiscale modeling of various processes in polymeric, composite and biological materials. Their specific research projects fall into two categories. The first area entails design and modeling of physical and biochemical properties of novel biological nanodevices and nanomaterials for targeted drug delivery and bio scaffolds. The process of designing structures from biomolecules also helps to advance understanding of their structure and function in the cell. The second area involves simulations of micromachining and degradation of polymeric, composite and biological materials and the processes at the interface.
