Proposals are due Friday, May 16, 2014
North Carolina Sea Grant (NCSG), in partnership with The Water Resources Research Institute of the University of North Carolina (WRRI), is providing competitive funding for a special call for proposals in the following three focus areas.
- Impacts of drought on North Carolina waters, communities, ecosystems and economies.
- Eutrophication issues on North Carolina lakes, streams, rivers and estuaries including: causes, impacts, trends and management strategies.
- Citizen science programs that address water-related issues in North Carolina (Note: proposals in this focus area cannot be only for monitoring projects).
We invite proposals for 1-year projects, with budgets up to $40k in grant funds. Indirect costs may not be charged, and no matching funds are required. Proposals that address multiple focus areas; and from teams of researchers across different institutions are encouraged. Submitted proposals must justify how the proposed work relates to a water issue for North Carolina. Proposed work must be supportive of the missions of both NCSG and WRRI.
