Temperature Limits

9.1 Shielding

Surfaces exceeding the limits in Table 16 shall be shall be shielded and labeled HOT. See 2.4.5.

9.2 Conductors

Conductors shall not be exposed to a temperature greater 90 % of their rating.

9.3 Components

Components shall not be exposed to a temperature greater 90 % of their rating.

9.4 Definitions

  1. Hand held - Operator contact duration is in excess of five seconds.
  2. Will touch - Operator or service personnel will touch the surface for less than 5 seconds at a time.
  3. May touch - Surfaces where inadvertent contact is possible.
  4. No need to touch - Surfaces not likely to be touched during normal operation.
