CONCLUSION

The NCSU Department of Athletics operates within the spirit and intent of the SACS criteria. The faculty participate in an active oversight role, and the chancellor has charged the director of athletics with managing the intercollegiate athletics program in a manner consistent with institutional philosophy and policies. As a direct result of these actions, the NCSU Department of Athletics has made positive changes in its support of the mission of North Carolina State University and the direction, organization, and administrative oversight of the department as it relates to academics, compliance, planning, and fiscal control. The Department of Athletics is committed to maintaining an athletics program that operates with integrity, is competitive at the highest levels of competition, and graduates a higher percentage of student-athletes than the general student body.
