RELATED CORPORATE ENTITIES

There are seventeen separately incorporated nonprofit foundations that support North Carolina State University. These foundations are:

North Carolina Dairy Foundation, Inc.
North Carolina Engineering Foundation, Inc.
North Carolina Forestry Foundation, Inc.
North Carolina 4-H Development Fund, Inc.
NCSU Alumni Association, Inc.
NCSU School of Design Foundation, Inc.
NCSU Education and Psychology Foundation, Inc.
NCSU Endowment Fund
NCSU Foundation, Inc.
NCSU Humanities Foundation, Inc.
NCSU Physical and Mathematical Sciences Foundation, Inc.
NCSU Student Aid Association, Inc.
Pulp and Paper Foundation, Inc.
North Carolina Textiles Foundation, Inc.
North Carolina Tobacco Foundation, Inc.
North Carolina Veterinary Medical Foundation, Inc.
These organizations serve as the primary fund-raising arm of North Carolina State University. Through them, individuals, corporations, and other organizations support the University's programs by providing scholarships, fellowships, faculty salary supplements, and research funds to specific colleges and to the University's overall academic environment. Support provided on behalf of the University during the year ending June 30, 1992, was approximately $16.4 million.

In addition to the foundations, the North Carolina State University Research Corporation is a separate corporation established to foster, promote, manage, assist, and develop research at North Carolina State University.

The bylaws and articles of incorporation for each of these corporate entities indicate that their purpose is to aid and promote, by financial assistance and otherwise, all types of education and research in the particular college or area for which they provide support. The activities of each of these entities compliment the mission of the University because the financial assistance they provide promotes scholarships, fellowships, professorships, and research at North Carolina State University [6.6.1].
