Field Trips
University Scholars Program : Current Students : Scholars Forum : Field Trips

Day and Weekend trips
Each semester University Scholars have the opportunity to go on several different field trips across the region to various noteworthy sites and museums. Outdoor adventures for 2011-2012 include a visit to the Duke Lemur Center, a walk through Cary's Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve, a hike in Umstead State Park, a visit to Prairie Ridge, and an afternoon canoeing on Lake Wheeler. Museum field trips will include the Nasher Museum, the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, the NC Museum of Art and the International Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro. And for those interested in sustainability, a tour of TS Designs factory in Burlington, a tour of the Piedmont Biofuels plant in Pittsboro, and a coffee tasting at Counter Culture Coffee in Durham will round out the schedule.
