Upcoming Scholars Council activities Historic Tryon Palace Trip:
Come join Scholars Council on Saturday, November 21st from 7:45am - 4:30pm to enjoy a trip to New Bern and a guided tour of Tryon Palace. Tryon Palace, built between 1767 and 1770, was the first permanent capitol of the Colony of North Carolina and a home for the Royal Governor and his family. The Palace was opened to the public in 1959--North Carolina's first great public history project. Follow in the footsteps of George Washington--visit Tryon Palace! This trip is free to students and Scholars Council will treat for lunch! Email Camry Curtis at clcurtis@ncsu.edu to sign up or with any questions.
Coalition to Unchain Dogs:
Join Scholars Council Saturday, November 21st at 8:45am - 1pm to volunteer for Coalition to Unchain Dogs. This non-profit organization aims to build recreational areas for dogs to improve their living conditions. Sign up in 102 Sullivan or email Jodi Joseph at jljoseph@ncsu.edu.
Dodge Ball for America:
Love the movie Dodge Ball? Think you have some skills? Then sign up a team (5-6 people) to play in this tournament that will take place at 5 PM November 20th on Lee Field. Sign up is in 102 Sullivan. Contact Jodi Joseph at jljoseph@ncsu.edu to answer any questions.
Fill Up the Apple:
The Scholars Council is making a collage for this year's semi-formal, Empire State of Mind, and we want your pictures in it. Come by the Scholars Lounge [102 Sullivan] and drop off your pictures--with your name and suite on the back so it can be returned to you after the semi-formal--in the giant apple in the lounge. And then come out to Empire State of Mind on Saturday, December 5th, to not only eat, dance and make merry, but see your pics in this great Scholars Collage. Questions? Contact Jodie Joseph at jljoseph@ncsu.edu.
