“The Scholars Village allowed me to be more involved. I walked by their sign-up sheets daily and saw advertisements for special events. Living in the Village made contacting Scholars personnel convenient. I could also stop by just to talk. I liked seeing residents that were once in my VIA group as well.”
Julie English, '11, Psychology, 2008-09 SVA
“I lived in the Village for two years – one as a SVA. I like having a community and recognizing people from forum events. It made getting involved easier.”
Kenzie McBride, '11, Civil Engineering, 2008-09 SVA

What do SVAs do in the Village?
The short answer is: A Lot! SVAs plan and lead a variety of educational, social and community-building events each semester. They co-lead Village in Action (VIA) groups - small groups of Scholars Village freshmen who attend a series of special Scholars Forum activities together. They plan floor- and village-wide events with the Scholars Village RAs. They plan everything from movie nights to discussions of contemporary issues. The bottomline is that the SVAs make the Scholars Village a very special place to live!
