Groundbreaking Set for Engineering Building I, Centennial Campus

The groundbreaking for Engineering Building I will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 on the Centennial Campus of North Carolina State University. NC State Provost Stuart L. Cooper, Dean Nino A. Masnari of the College of Engineering and other dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony. Media coverage is welcomed.

Building I, which will house the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, represents the first phase of the College of Engineering's move to Centennial Campus.

Parking is available in the Red Hat parking deck on Varsity Drive on Centennial Campus. Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place south of the parking deck. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held inside the Red Hat building. A reception is planned on the first floor of the Red Hat building immediately following.

Members of the media planning to attend may contact Linda Rudd, Engineering Communications, at 515-3848 or linda_rudd@ncsu.edu for further directions or more information.
