Raleigh/Wake County College Fair Welcomes Students, Parents

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities will answer questions from parents and high-school students at this year’s Raleigh/Wake County College Fair, to be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7, at the McKimmon Center on the campus of North Carolina State University. The event is free, and families from Wake County and surrounding areas are invited to attend.

In addition to learning about the college admissions process, parents and students can attend workshops on financial aid and preparing for college. Representatives from all branches of the military will also be present to answer questions.

The annual College Fair is sponsored by the Carolinas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (CACRAO), NC State and the Wake County public schools.

According to Martha Harmening, associate director of admissions at NC State, the College Fair is designed to be a convenient and informative resource for area families. “We encourage middle-school and high-school students and their parents to attend,” she said. “It’s open to students from public and private schools, as well as home-schooled children.”
