Scholar to Deliver Two Public Lectures at NC State
What:
Dr. Gene H. Bell-Villada, professor and chair of the
Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Williams
College in Williamstown, Mass., will present public
lectures on “Arts for Art’s Sake: Why Does
It Exist? And How? And Where?” and “Looking
for García Márquez: How It Was”
at North Carolina State University. Bell-Villada is
the author of “Borges and His Fiction,”
“García Márquez: The Man and His
Work,” and “The Carlos Chadwick Mystery:
A Novel of College Life and Political Terror.”

Presented by the NC State Department
of Foreign Languages and Literatures, in the College
of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS).
When:
Tuesday, Nov. 4. The “Art for Art’s
Sake” lecture begins at 4 p.m. The
“Looking for García Márquez”
lecture begins at 8 p.m.
Where:
Both lectures will take place in room 2211 of Broughton
Hall, located on East Dunn Ave. on the NC State campus.
Cost:
Both lectures are free and open to the
public.
