Graduate’s Photo-Book Chronicles NC State History

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A new book by a recent North Carolina State University graduate charts the history of NC State through photographs.

“NCSU: A Bridge to the Future” is a 165-page, full-color publication that should bring a smile of recognition to the faces of NC State alumni everywhere. The book, written by 2002 meteorology major Adam B. Smith, contains about 300 pictures with captions, including everything from an 1887 photo of the “main building” – known today as Holladay Hall – to a rendering of Centennial Campus as it is expected to appear in 2020.

The photos came from a variety of NC State sources, including the university’s archives and “Agromeck,” the university’s official yearbook.

This will be Smith’s second book. He released “Hiddenite: Land of Discovery” in September 2002. That book examined the history of a small mining town in western North Carolina.

Smith’s Web site, www.absmithbooks.com, contains information about both books, as well as ways to order them by credit card.
