Twelve
NC State Students Selected as Chancellor’s
Aides for 2004-05

Twelve North
Carolina State University students have been selected
as chancellor’s aides for the 2004-05
academic year.
Among other
duties, chancellor’s aides escort
visitors and prospective students on campus tours.
They also assist guests of Interim Chancellor Robert
Barnhardt at football and basketball games, and at
official dinners and receptions at the chancellor’s
residence.
Students are chosen on the basis of their academic
standing, ability to communicate and desire to convey
pride in NC State. Following, listed by county, are
the names of the students, where available, and biographical
information.
CARTERET
BEAUFORT – Tracina Nicole Williams, a senior
majoring in zoology, is the daughter of Tracy and Tina
Williams. A 2001 graduate of East Carteret High School
in Beaufort, Williams is a Park Scholar, a member of
the College of Agriculture and Life Science Honors
Program, an Undergraduate Research Award recipient,
and co-founder of the Student Global AIDS Campaign.
EDGECOMBE
PINETOPS – Lee Andrew Hyde, a junior majoring
in business management, is the son of Ralph and Peggy
Hyde. He is a 2002 graduate of Southwest Edgecombe
High School.
LENOIR
PINK HILL – Michael Anthony Mitchell, a senior
majoring in business management, is the son of Anthony
and Eleanor Mitchell. A 2001 graduate of South Lenoir
High School, he is a member of Alpha Kappa Psi and
was a 2003 Leader of the Pack finalist.
MCDOWELL
MARION – Tyler Sunland Pool, a junior majoring
in English, is the son of Randy and the late Barbara
Pool. A 2002 graduate of McDowell High School, Pool
is a Park Scholar, a member of the University Scholars
Program, and has been selected to the dean’s
list.
PENDER
ROCKY POINT – Kelley Marie Harts, a junior majoring
in chemistry and criminology, is the daughter of Pamela
Harts of Rocky Point and William Harts of Burgaw. She
is a 2002 graduate of Pender High School.
WAKE
CARY – Matt David Gaebel, a junior majoring in
accounting, is the son of David and Susan Gaebel. A
2002 graduate of Green Hope High School in Morrisville,
he is a member of the University Scholars Program,
the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Phi
Eta Sigma Honor Society.
RALEIGH – Nathaniel
Charles Horner, a senior majoring in computer science
and English, is the son
of Charles and Virginia Horner. He is a 2000 graduate
of Leesville Road High School.
