NC State
College of Design Hosts Annual Pumpkin Carving
Contest Students
from North Carolina State University’s College of Design will blend their
creativity and Halloween spirit at the college’s
annual pumpkin carving contest on Friday, Oct.
29, from 4:45 to 6 p.m. at Kamphoefner Courtyard on the
NC State campus. The courtyard is located behind Brooks
Hall off Pullen Road.
The contest
will provide a host of visuals as many of the college’s
most creative students showcase their talents by
creating original, elaborate and sometimes
outrageous designs.
The finished
jack-o’-lanterns will be on display
at the College of Design following the event and then
again on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
at the annual “Halloween Bash Celebration.” A
costume contest is scheduled at midnight.
Media
coverage of the pumpkin carving contest and the
Bash is invited. Members of the media can also
try their hand at making their own jack-o’-lanterns
and receive design tips from students.
The pumpkin carving contest and Bash are sponsored
by the student-led NC State University Design Council.
