McDew
to Deliver Keynote Address at Kwanzaa Celebration
What:
Charles McDew, activist, community organizer
and professor of the history of the civil rights movement
at Metropolitan State University in Minneapolis, Minn.,
will be the keynote speaker for the 13th annual Kwanzaa
Celebration at North Carolina State University. The
title of the lecture is “The Lens of History,
Stories We Should All Know.” The program will
also feature traditional Kwanzaa rituals, dance and
food.

The event is sponsored by NC State’s Office of
African-American Student Affairs.
When:
Thursday, Dec. 2, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Where:
The Kwanzaa Celebration will be held in the Multipurpose
Room of the African-American Cultural Center, located
on the first floor of the Witherspoon Student Center.
Witherspoon is located at the corner of Cates Avenue
and Dan Allen Drive on the NC State campus.
Cost:
Free and open to the public.
