NC State Students Selected as Chancellor’s
Aides for 2005-06

Thirteen
North Carolina State University students have been
selected as chancellor’s aides for
the 2005-06 academic year.
Among other
duties, chancellor’s aides escort
visitors and prospective students on campus tours.
They also assist guests of Chancellor James L. Oblinger
at football and basketball games, and at official dinners
and receptions at the chancellor’s residence.
Students are chosen on the basis of their academic
standing, ability to communicate and desire to convey
pride in NC State.
Following, listed by county, are the names of the
students, where available, and biographical information.
CHOWAN
EDENTON – Vann Mizzelle Lassiter, a senior majoring
in business and marketing education, is the son of
Sidney and Lois Lassiter of Edenton. A 2002 graduate
of John A. Holmes High School in Edenton, Lassiter
is a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, a North Carolina
Scholar, a member of Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and
is on the Dean’s List.
EDGECOMBE
PINETOPS – Lee Andrew Hyde, a senior majoring
in political science, is the son of Ralph and Peggy
Hyde of Pinetops. Hyde is a 2002 graduate of Southwest
Edgecombe High School.
GUILFORD
GREENSBORO – April Nicole Franklin, a junior
majoring in animal science, is the daughter of Terence
and Sharon Franklin of Greensboro. A 2003 graduate
of James B. Dudley High School, Franklin is a member
of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Phi
Eta Sigma Honor Society, the University Scholars Program
and is on the Dean’s List.
JOHNSTON
GARNER – Katherine Leigh Jones, a senior majoring
in history, is the daughter of Robert and Lee Jones
of Garner. A 2002 graduate of Saint Mary’s High
School in Raleigh, Jones is a member of Gamma Beta
Phi Honor Society and the Student Senate, and is a
congressional intern and facility supervisor at Carmichael
Gym. MECKLENBERG
CHARLOTTE – Dennis Adam Young, a junior majoring
in biomedical engineering, is the son of Dennis and
Elizabeth Young of Charlotte. A 2003 graduate of Providence
High School in Charlotte, Young is a member of Tau
Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
CHARLOTTE – Heather
Nicole Seal, a senior majoring in political science,
is the daughter of Catherine
Seal of Charlotte. A 2002 graduate of East Mecklenburg
High School in Charlotte, Seal is an NC State Ambassador,
University Scholar, NC State RecPack delegate, RecPack
selection team chair, and RecPack recruitment team
member.
CHARLOTTE – Ronald Lamar Johnson, Jr., a senior
majoring in business management and psychology, is
the son of Ronald and Regina Johnson of Charlotte.
A 2002 graduate of Zebulon B. Vance High School in
Charlotte, Johnson is on the Dean’s List, a member
of the National Scholar’s Honor Society, University
Judicial Board, Student Media Authority Board, Dean’s
Student Advisory Board, Senior Class Board of Trustees,
Association for the Concerns of African American Graduate
Students Honoree, and an Alumni Association Ambassador.
NEW HANOVER
WILMINGTON – Kelly Marie Harts, a senior majoring
in chemistry and criminology, is the daughter of Pam
Harts of Wilmington and William Harts of Burgaw. A
2002 graduate of Pender High School in Burgaw, Harts
is lead mentor of the PAMS peer mentor program.
UNION
MONROE – Jeffrey Scott Vizcaino, a junior majoring
in film and communication media, is the son of Sonia
Vizcaino of Monroe and the late Julio Vizcaino. He
is a 2003 graduate of Monroe High School.
WAKE
RALEIGH – Jonathan Lawrence Chichwale, a sophomore
majoring in political science, is the son of Stan Yancey
and Elaine Rohlile of Raleigh. He is a 2004 graduate
of Southeast Raleigh High School.
