NC State University Kicks Off Capital Campaign on Friday, Sept. 23

North Carolina State University Chancellor James L. Oblinger and Board of Trustees Chair Wendell Murphy will lead a gathering of faculty, staff, students and alumni to formally kick off the public phase of the university’s largest comprehensive fund-raising campaign – Achieve! The Campaign for NC State – during an event at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 at the Jane S. McKimmon Center on the corner of Western Boulevard and Gorman Street.

Media coverage of the campaign kickoff is invited. Two of the largest gifts in university history will be announced.

Money raised will support student scholarships and fellowships; investments in top faculty; new and improved facilities; and research and extension efforts to solve statewide, national and global problems. The campaign will continue through June 2008; the quiet phase of the campaign began in July 2001.
