NC State Vice Chancellor Candidates Set To Visit Campus

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

North Carolina State University’s search for a vice chancellor for extension, engagement and economic development continues, with five candidates being brought to campus for a series of interviews and public meetings.

The position was vacated in July 2004 when Dr. Stephen Jones was named chancellor of the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

The full schedule for each interview is being developed. Below are the five candidates and the dates of their scheduled visit.

  • Mark Crowell, associate vice chancellor for economic development and technology transfer, University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill, Oct. 11-12
  • Robert McMahan, senior advisor to the Governor for science and technology; executive director, N.C. Board of Science and Technology, Oct. 5-6
  • Theodore (Ted) Settle, director, Office of Economic Development, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Oct. 3-4
  • David Winwood, director, Centennial Campus, NC State, Sept. 27-28
  • James Zuiches, professor of community and rural sociology, Washington St. University, Oct. 10-11
