FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Award-winning children’s book author and illustrator Allen Say will lecture in the auditorium of Kamphoefner Hall on the North Carolina State University campus on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Say won the 1994 Caldecott Medal for his book Grandfather’s Journey. The Caldecott

The award is named in honor of the 19th-century English illustrator Randolph J. Caldecott. Say’s
other works include Trees of Cranes, Tea with Milk, The Sign Painter, Home of the Brave, Music for Alice and, most recently, Kamishibai Man.

The event is sponsored by the NC State Department of Art and Design, the Japan Center and Quail Ridge Books.
