NC State University Sponsors, Hosts Mounted Patrol Training

North Carolina State University is the sponsor and host of a mounted patrol training
session scheduled for Friday, Nov. 18, at the university’s Equine Training Facility on Reedy
Creek Road in Raleigh.

Media coverage of the training, including a 12:30 p.m. session in which students will
assemble to simulate a gathering for the mounted officers to patrol, is invited. The facility is located at 5100 Reedy Creek Road in Raleigh. From campus, take Blue Ridge Road north to Reedy Creek Road and turn left; the facility is on the right, directly across from Schenck Forest.

NC State’s Mounted Patrol Unit will participate in the daylong training event along with
mounted patrol units from Raleigh, the City of Wilson and Wilson County. A few of the
training topics include working as a group, sensory training for mounts, and handling situations
from horseback.
