I have not been officially admitted to the University, can I register for a Spring Entry Orientation session?
No. You can not register for Spring Entry Orientation until you have been admitted and confirmed your intention to enroll at NC State University by paying the $200 Advanced Enrollment Deposit. You can check the status of your application on your WolfPAW account. Should you need to contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions regarding your application status you can reach them by phone at 919.515.2434 or via email at undergrad_admissions@ncsu.edu.
Is Orientation mandatory?
Orientation is a very important element of the transition into college and the majority of the Orientation program has mandatory attendance. If you have a time conflict, contact the Office of New Student Orientation at 919.515.1234 or email us at orientation@ncsu.edu.
Is there a fee for Spring Entry Orientation?
Yes. The New Student Orientation fee for spring entry students entering in the spring semester is $45. This fee covers the costs of Orientation and is included in the Tuition and Fees Statement you will receive by email from the University’s Cashier’s Office. This is a mandatory fee charged to all incoming students regardless of your attendance at Orientation.
What are the Spring Entry Orientation dates?
The Spring Entry Orientation program takes place on Friday, December 11, 2009 and Friday, January 8, 2010.
How do I register for a Spring Entry Orientation?
You can register for Spring Entry Orientation online from your WolfPAW account at http://wolfpaw.ncsu.edu.
Which Spring Entry Orientation session should I attend?
Any student entering the university in the spring may attend either one of the Spring Entry Orientation dates. Unless your college or department has instructed you otherwise, pick the one that best fits your schedule!
Which Spring Entry Orientation session should an International Student attend?
International students should contact the Office of International Services to learn more information about your orientation session. All international students (those in non-immigrant visa status) are required to check in with the Office of International Services (OIS) upon arrival. Please contact OIS for further details by calling 919.515.2961 or via web at www.ncsu.edu/ois.
How do I change my Spring Entry Orientation date?
You may change the Orientation session you have registered for if space is available on your WolfPAW account at http://wolfpaw.ncsu.edu.
What happens if I can not attend my Orientation session?
Contact New Student Orientation as soon as possible by phone at 919.515.1234 or via email at orientation@ncsu.edu to discuss your conflict.
Can I register for classes at Spring Entry Orientation?
Students should contact their academic advisor prior to attending Orientation to discuss your registration options. Unless your college has instructed you otherwise, contact your academic advisor prior to attending Orientation. Go to www.ncsu.edu/registrar/registration, click on Advisors-New Undergraduate for adviser contact information.
Do I get a confirmation that I registered for Orientation?
Yes. An email will be sent to your personal address (the one you included on your application to NC State) and to your WOLFPAW account.
If I need special accommodations during Orientation, what office should I contact?
Students needing assistive services or special accommodations at Orientation must contact Lori Wilson at 919.515.1234 or via email at lori_wilson@ncsu.edu at least 10 (ten) business days before your Orientation session.

Can I bring my parents or a friend to Spring Entry Orientation?
Spring Entry Orientation is designed for incoming students. Parents and family are welcome to stay with their students during the day or to attend a program specifically designed for parents. Guests will have to purchase a lunch ticket if they choose to eat in the dining hall. Please visit www.ncsu.edu/for_parents to view the Parent Orientation schedule and learn more about the program.
I am about to start taking classes in the Non-Degree Studies (formerly Life Long Education) program. What Orientation do I attend?
The Orientation program offered by New Student Orientation is for degree seeking students. Students in the Non-Degree Studies (NDS) program should attend the orientation session offered by the Department of Registration and Records. Newly admitted non-degree students will be invited to this orientation session via email. Visit the Non-Degree Studies website at http://www.ncsu.edu/nds or call 919.515.2572.
What should I bring to Orientation?
It is suggested that Transfer students bring the following items:
- A driver’s license or other form of valid picture ID
- Immunization forms (if not submitted previously)
- Transcript form previous institution
First Year (freshman) students should also bring copies of AP or IB scores if they have them.
What time and where will Orientation begin?
Check-in for Orientation is between 8:00a.m.-8:45a.m. in the North Gallery, 2nd floor of Talley Student Center, located on Cates Avenue. You must check into receive your Information Packet and program schedule. Plan on a late afternoon departure.
What will the schedule be like at Orientation?
Activities at Orientation will vary depending on your college, but a general schedule can be viewed online at www.ncsu.edu/orientation/springentry.
Where should I park during Spring Entry Orientation?
On-campus parking is available at the Reynolds Coliseum Parking Deck located on the corner of Dunn Avenue and Jester Drive. Print the parking permit located at www.ncsu.edu/orientation/springentry and place on the passenger side dashboard. The deck address is 201 Jeter Drive, Raleigh, NC 27607.
Will I receive my AllCampus card (Student ID) at Orientation?
Yes. Students will have the opportunity to get their picture taken for their AllCampus card at Orientation. Students must have a valid picture ID with them in order to get their card.
