Who should attend Parents’ Orientation?
Parents’ Orientation is designed to be a program for those who will be part of a support system for incoming new students to NC State.  Our orientation fees are per family.  Please note that most of the presentations are delivered in more of a lecture format and so may be hard for younger family members to sit through

What dates is Parents’ Orientation being held?
For parents and families of Spring Entry students, orientation dates are:

  • Friday, December 7, 2012
  • Friday, January 4, 2013

What’s the purpose of Parents’ Orientation?
Parents’ Orientation is held to help educate parents and family members of incoming NC State students learn more about expectations, opportunities and community here.  We know that when parents and families are informed, students benefit.  Our program is designed to help keep parents and families an informed part of the Wolfpack family.

How much does it cost to attend Parents’ Orientation?
The registration fee for Spring Entry Parents’ Orientation is $90 per family.  There are lots of benefits to attending Parents’ Orientation, to include the education and materials received at Parents’ Orientation.  After orientation, you will have access to the staff and resources available through Parents & Families Services.

I’m not sure I can attend; may I register on site?
We encourage registration in advance so we are prepared for your visit, but do allow on-site registrations the day of Parents’ Orientation.


There are other family members who would like the orientation materials. May I get a second packet?
Because coming to Parents’ Orientation includes your membership to the Parents & Families Association, we cannot give packets.  Additional packets are available for purchase or come with registering to be a part of the Parents & Families Association.


My plans have changed. May I change the session I originally scheduled to attend?
For Spring Entry Orientation, there are two dates, Friday, December 7, 2012 and Friday, January 4, 2013. If you cannot attend your initial date, you may switch to the other session provided it has not already occurred.


I am already a member of the NC State Parents & Families Association. Do I still need to register for Parents’ Orientation?
Yes, for planning purposes we need every family to register for Parents’ Orientation.  Please call our office at 919.515.1234 for assistance with your registration.


I registered for Parents’ Orientation and I can no longer attend.  Can I get a refund?
Parents’ Orientation fees are nonrefundable.
