How to Become an Academic Coach
The Office of Advising Support, Information and Services (OASIS) seeks NC State faculty, staff, and graduate student volunteers to serve as an academic coach for the Pack Promise Program. Coaching is a collaborative, problem-solving process that helps people make and maintain life changes. It is a creative method for helping individuals focus on their talents, resources and strengths so that they are successful in achieving their academic and personal goals.

Academic coaches will serve primarily as facilitators – asking questions that allow students to draw upon their own self-understanding and resourcefulness. Academic coaches will help students to develop, prioritize, and focus on their goals as well as ensure that they are accountable for following through on their plans.
