Study in China Program Orientation
More than 80 NC State undergrads will experience the fast growing China first hand this summer. They are participating Hangzhou Summer Program, Nanjing Transportation Engineering Program, Summer Study in Nanjing Program, and Caldwell Fellows Service Learning Program. An orientation on China and its global importance gathered them all on the night of Mar. 10th.
This orientation is part of the orientation series organized by Office of International Affairs along with Confucius Institute, in order to help students become more culturally aware and further enjoy their trip to China. In his presentation, Prof. Xu Keqian shed light on the history of China, its modernization, importance of China, and effect of Confucian ideology on China. An hour and half were filled with historical facts, vivid examples, attentive listening, shared laughs and as a result, increased awareness.
Two more sessions will be followed on Mar. 17th and Mar. 31st . Any one who is interested in Chinese culture and customs, as well as traveling in China, is welcome to join the orientation. |
