Delegation of Jiangsu Education Ministry and "Hanban" Visited North Carolina and the Confucius Institute.

Invited by North Carolina State Board of Educationa and NC Superintendent of Public Education , a delegation of the Education Ministry of China's Jiangsu Province, led by Professor Ding Xiaochang, the deputy director general of the Jiangsu Education Ministry has visited North Carolina on Februrary 13. The delegation members also include Mr. Jiang Yandong, Director of Division of Planning and Development, National Office of Chinese Language Council International (aften refered as "Hanban", the headquarter of Confucius Institutes in Beijing)

The delegation met with Mr. Howard Lee, Chairman of NC State Board of Education(SBE), Dr. June Atkinson, NC Superintendent of Public Instruction, Mr. Wayne McDevitt, Vice Chima of SBE. The two sides discussed variety of possible areas of bilateral collaboration, such as school partnership, students and teachers exchange, collaborated class, etc. The two sides share the common vision of the importance of educational internationalization, and believe that further developing a close relationship between educationers in Jiangsu Province and NC State will benefit teachers and students of both sides.

The delegation also visited the NC State University's Confucius Institute, Department of Educational leadership and Policy Studies, the Centennial Middle School and the Fridy Institute.
