Seed Grants & SADG

2007-2008 Internationalization Seed Grants &
Study Abroad Development Grants

Internationalization Seed Grants are designed to assist NC State University faculty members to initiate research and other scholarly professional activities that address international topics and enhance the internationalization of the University. The University Standing Committee on International Programs (CIP) oversees the review and award process for these grants. Awards are intended to serve as seed money leading to follow-up support obtained from outside granting agencies. Previously awarded grants are listed on the Office of International Affairs Webpage under Funding:
http:// www.ncsu.edu/oia/seedgrantsawards.html

Seed Grants
Seed Grants being awarded for the 2007-08 Fiscal Year, will provide a maximum of $4,000 for any single award. We anticipate that funds will be available July 1, 2007-June 30, 2008. Applicants should be aware that, in recent years, award funds have not always been provided on July 1, due to budget uncertainties. Applicant's salary is not allowed, but international scholarly expenditures, including travel, may be funded. Click on the link to view grant guidelines: http://www.ncsu.edu/oia/seedgrantsguide.html

Study Abroad Development Grants (SADG)
CIP is also awarding Study Abroad Development Grants. These awards, with a maximum of $2,000, will allow faculty to carry out a site visit after working with the university Study Abroad Office (SAO) to develop a new study abroad program. (New program applications, separate from the grant process, must be submitted to the SAO by June 29, 2007 for programs to be run in 2008.) The applications for the SADG must be accompanied by letters of support from the SAO and the applicant's department head. Full details of the SADG and the application process are on the Office of International Affairs web page under Funding: http://www.ncsu.edu/oia/studyabroaddevelopmentgrants.html

Schedule
The application deadline for both awards is March 19, 2007 (4:30 p.m.)
