Office of International Services

Culture to Culture Ambassador Program

The Culture to Culture Ambassador Program is designed to help ease adjustment into life at NC State University for new undergraduate international students AND to provide American undergraduate students with an opportunity to develop or enhance their cross-cultural communication and leadership skills. The Office of International Services has established this program to provide an opportunity for domestic and international students to share their perspectives, help each other and learn from each other.
American students are expected to take on the role of mentor for at least one semester. Support and guidance will be provided by the Office of International Services to help the student be successful in their endeavor. International students will receive help during a very stressful time in their lives and we hope that having a peer student provide support and an introduction to American academic and campus life will ease the transition to life in the U.S. In return, international students are expected to share their culture and traditions with the American student, so that they have an opportunity to learn firsthand about a different culture and country.

If you would like to be considered for participation in this program, please complete the appropriate application and submit it to ois@ncsu.edu or drop it off at the OIS office in Daniels Hall, room 320.
