OIS Passport

The OIS Passport is a program for new international students to help you become more familiar with events and services on and around campus. By attending various campus events you will become more knowledgeable about campus and have some fun along the way.

New international students may pick up an OIS Passport from the OIS office in 320 Daniels Hall. Students who follow the rules for participation listed below will be eligible for a prize at the end of the academic year.

Passport Rules for Participation and Prize Eligibility:

    1. Write your name and student ID number on the passport.
    2. Attend a total of 6 events in one academic year. Three events are absolutely required for prize eligibility.
    • The OIS Student Success Session (August 24th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Talley Student Center)
    • The OIS Health and Safety Session (September 13th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Talley Student Center)
    • Attend a CPT Session prior to March 1st 2012.
    3. All OIS events must be stamped for attendance by an OIS staff member at the time of attendance.
    4. For non-OIS sponsored events please ask a faculty or staff member who has sponsored the event to sign in one of the boxes and print their name in the box also. You may write the date and name of the event in the box.
    5. Passports must be returned to OIS by May 1st, 2012 for prize eligibility.
    6. Events not sponsored by OIS that require your attendance do not qualify such as: graduate student orientation or departmental orientations.

There is no list of events, however, student should consult the events calendar on the NC State University main page as well as the upcoming events on the OIS web page. Any event sponsored by the Campus RecreationStudent Health CenterNC State Athletics (if you attend an athletic event staple your ticket stub to your passport prior to submission to OIS), OIS, OIA automatically qualify for prize eligibility:

Any questions about an event and eligibility for the prize should be asked of OIS prior to attending the event.

Students who meet all eligibility requirements and submit their passports to OIS by May 1st, 2012 will be entered into a lottery for a prize. OIS will not accept passports after May 1st, 2012. There will be multiple prizes awarded so be sure to participate and you may be a winner! Have a great year!
