  TUITION AND FEES

Most international students will be required to pay the rate for out-of-state tuition. For a listing of tuition and fee rates, please visit the Cashier's Office website. The Cashier's Office is responsible for the billing of student accounts.  If you have questions concerning payment of tuition, you should contact the Cashier's Office at stuaccts_comments@ncsu.edu.  OIS does not handle the billing of student accounts.

Students in F-1 or J-1 nonimmigrant visa status must pay the out-of- state tuition rate. If you are currently in the United States in another nonimmigrant visa category and you wish to change to F-1 status, please be advised that you will be charged the out-of-state tuition rate as an F-1 student.  This will happen irregardless of how long you have lived in North Carolina in your current, non F-1, visa category.

Some individuals in nonimmigrant visa categories other than F-1 and J-1 may be eligible for the in-state tuition rate. In order to be eligible for the in-state tuition rate, the student must have resided in North Carolina for at least 12 months, and the purpose for this residency must be something other than just attending school. Residency for tuition purposes is determined by the appropriate admissions office (Undergraduate or Graduate), not OIS. Undergraduate students should visit the Undergraduate Admissions website or contact Undergraduate Admissions directly for more information on residency for tuition purposes. Graduate Students should visit the Graduate Admissions website for further information and to download the application.
