What Happens at Orientation?

New Student Orientation is a full-day program. Students should expect to arrive on campus no later than 8:15 a.m. and stay on campus until 1:30 p.m. in order to receive vital information on student services, online course registration, and their college and major.

Schedule At A Glance

   8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.         Student Check-in 

First-Year Students: Room 232, Withers Hall

Transfer Students: Witherspoon Student Center


   8:45 a.m. – 9:40 a.m.         Orientation Welcome    

Students will be welcomed to the University, learn about how to be successful in their first semester, and hear from current students about what it means to a member of the Wolfpack.           


   9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.       Small Group Meeting & Tour                


10:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.        College/Institute Meetings       

Various Locations (students will be escorted to their locations)

Meet with your college representatives to receive information about what you can expect from your college during your first semester at NC State.


12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.          Lunch at Fountain Dining Hall
